“Great ideas spring from grey walls,” said no-one, ever. And yet, our offices are shrines to the shade, lacklustre and featureless, as if any hint of colour will distract us from the task at hand. In fact, recent studies suggest the opposite is true – our brains thrive off stimulating environments.

Alex Bain of Sydney-based interior design consultancy Property Lipstick says the importanceof creating a work environment that people actually want to work in cannot be underestimated. “Good workplace design generates positivity, energy and efficiency” she says.
