PL was very excited to be invited to the launch of the new Lizzo textiles range. Suzana from Lizzo had flown from Spain to Australia for the occasion and gave a beautiful presentation explaining how the collection came to be. We found the fabrics to be rich and textural with a real sense of artistry.

The inspirations for the collection are eclectic – ranging from traditional textile design to modern geometrics. The traditional fabric including the beautiful houndstooth check (featured above) was inspired by Aberdeen and Balmoral castle.

We were particularly enamoured with the textural and 3D element to the fabrics. The velvet Dune fabric (above left) instantly evokes an image of the desert. The sheers (above middle) ranged from stripes to beautiful, intricate patterns. We loved the hand drawn horse patterned fabric (above right) which is just like an artwork and perfect for a wall hanging.

The splash of citrus yellow and the use of ikat in the collection is truly refreshing. It is wonderful to see textiles taking note of fashion.

Finally we loved the heavy blue striped linens, embroidered cross stitch linen and complementary ethnic patterns. We can’t wait to use these amazing fabrics in our up and coming projects!
